Sin-Yuen wins poster prize

At the recent Postgraduate Research conference of the School our group member Sin-Yuen Chang has won the First Year PhD poster prize for her poster entitled “The quest for a golden age in wastewater treatment”. Congratulations, Sin-Yuen!

Matt Thomason passed PhD viva

On Friday, 22 March 2013 our group member Matt Thomason passed his PhD examination subject to minor corrections in his PhD thesis, Soft X-ray Spectroscopy of Molecular Species in Solution: Studies of Imidazole and Imidazole/Water Systems.

Paper on Novel Spectroelectrochemical Technique

A windowless electrochemical cell for the spectroscopic investigation of the liquid-liquid interface, using a dual droplet configuration, has been designed. Matt Hudson Shortlisted by IChemE for “Young Chemical Engineer of the Year”

Dr Matthew Hudson, an alumnus of our group who completed his PhD in 2010, has been shortlisted for the ‘IChemE Young Chemical Engineer of the Year’ award. After completing his PhD Matt joined Shell, with whom he currently works in Houston, Texas.
